Apollo Design Shows The Depth Of Their Offerings At The VLS Open House

Apollo Design TechnologyWhile many of our customers know Apollo Design for their gobos and color filters, the VLS Open House gave many customers an introduction to the depth of entertainment and architectural lighting products they manufacture and distribute.

Apollo’s lighting industry wrenches were hard to miss. The Apollo BTS Wrench combines sleek design with utility that any entertainment lighting tech can appreciate. One end of the tool features a large-jaw crescent wrench and the other end offers two cutouts for gripping common hex head and square head bolts. Apollo also showed off the three variations of their Little Focus Wrench. All of the lighting-specific wrenches in this family of hand tools sport cutaways for hex head bolts as well as two sizes of cutouts for square head bolts.

Apollo Design did a great job of showcasing simple utilitarian products like the Clip Light 2 (an inexpensive spring clamp shop light with black reflector and included blue CFL bulb), and the PermaPenny (a c-clamp accessory that attaches to your clamp and protects your truss from abrasions and denting caused when fastening fixtures to the aluminum truss).

They also showed off their fixture accessories including the MXR Color Mixer (a two layer color scroller that allows you to use two gelstrings independently or in conjunction with each other), and their single gelstring Smart Color PRO color scrollers (perfect for when your show needs a lot of colors but your theater doesn’t have a lot of lights). Apollo Design’s gobo rotators were also well received with economical offering like the Simple Single rotator and more sophisticated models from the Smart Move family (most offer dual gobo rotation, DMX control, and onboard programs for standalone operation).

More complex items demonstrated just how far Apollo has advanced in creating sophisticated electronic devices for entertainment & architectural lighting. Their Right Arm 3 is an elegant solution that adds pan and tilt capability to your existing lighting instruments, or a camera, or a projector, or basically anything else you can bolt to it (there’s even a counterweight accessory for heavier items). Apollo Design makes more than just accessories though, their new line of Avere fixtures are designed to work well as retrofit solutions or in new construction projects.
