Lorain County Community College - Art Glass
Architects Clark & Post contacted photographer Scott Pease to capture images of an installation of Art Glass in a pedestrian bridge between two buildings located at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, OH. The artist, Shen Shen Sheng an internationally renowned artist from San Francisco, CA was retained as the creator of this beautiful piece of Art Glass for the college.
The bridge portion of the installation was approximately 100 feet across with the remainder of the art glass extending another 85 feet into the next section of the building, for a total length of approximately 185 feet! During his initial walk-through, Mr. Pease realized that the lighting would need significant enhancement to bring out the beauty of the glass and its colors. He contacted Vincent Lighting's Production Manager Derek Hons to see what we could provide.
Derek created a design, using twelve Clay Paky Storm CC lighting fixtures, controlled by a GrandMA 2 Light console, so that each light could be controlled individually to adjust for intensity and color balance. Facing a short window of time for photography, Production Specialist Ben Starett and Production Technician Chris Myers arrived early in the afternoon to set up and program the lighting, leaving enough time to test and adjust, before the optimum time of day arrived for capturing these beautiful images.
