Small Light Boards

The simplest controllers allow for direct control of dimmers and somewhat limited control of LED instruments, they are not recommended for controlling moving lights or intelligent fixtures. Often called preset controllers or 2 scene presets, these controllers require manual operation of the faders throughout your production. Once you set levels for the first scene, a separate set of faders is used to preset the following scene. A cross-fader allows the user to switch between scenes. This method of control is acceptable for smaller systems which consist primarily of traditional dimmers tied to conventional lighting fixtures and use less than full universe of DMX control (512 channels). While the repeated fader manipulation can be laborious, no amount of computer savvy is required to get started with a 2 scene preset. The simplicity makes this class of controllers a good fit for productions where limited control is required and staff may have little or no experience in operating production lighting equipment.
