November 27, 2018 — Vincent Lighting Systems (VLS) today announced that well-respected industry veteran Bill Groener will be joining VLS as its new President. Founder and former President, Paul Vincent, will remain connected with VLS as an advisor moving forward. Groener, who will be based in the Cleveland area, will be taking on the responsibilities of his new role immediately. He will work closely with the VLS Leadership Team to assure a smooth transition.
“I have a huge amount of respect for the company that Paul built over the 40-plus years that VLS has been around,” says Groener. “I’ve known Paul since 1984. I continued to work with him over the years and got to know the good person and outstanding employer that Paul is. I am humbled and honored by the fact that Paul thought it was not only a great idea for me to join VLS but to also succeed him as president. It is great to know that Paul is still going to be available as a resource to our team in an advisory role. All in all, it’s a great situation and I’m looking forward to this new challenge.”
Groener’s distinguished career spans almost 40 years in the entertainment, themed and architectural technology sectors. Before joining VLS, Groener was the principal of the systems integration firm, GRO(2)B, before that he was the VP of National Business Development for 4Wall Entertainment. Prior to being a 4Wall VP, Groener served as the General Manager for their Systems & Design Division.
Paul Vincent sees Groener as the perfect person to succeed him as president at VLS. “I am very pleased that Bill has agreed to take over the team,” Vincent notes. “Several things make Bill the right person for this job. He’s a diplomat. He’s knowledgeable, with 40 plus years of experience in many different facets of the industry and he’s been involved with several industry trade associations and non-profits over the years. Without a doubt, I think he and Tom Siko, our General Manager, will make an excellent team. I know that Bill is going to fit well at VLS. He’s the perfect candidate to come in and take the company into a bright future under his leadership. I am excited about Bill and on a personal level, I am excited about getting to spend more time with my family and the non-profits I have been helping over the years in our industry.”
Vincent’s confidence about VLS’ growth potential is shared by Groener, stating, “This is a tremendous company with a great reputation established through the talented and experienced people there—strong professionals who take pride in doing great work for their clients. I am truly excited to now have this great opportunity to join VLS at this moment, as it is very well-positioned and poised for future growth. I have seen the significant improvements and developments made by Paul and Tom since Tom joined the company a year ago. I certainly anticipate working very closely with Tom, the Leadership Team, and the rest of the VLS staff as we lead the company moving forward. I feel confident that we all share a deep respect for what VLS is and that we share a vision of what it can become. I see nothing but strong potential for the future.”
Groener reassures customers, vendors, and the industry that this will be a smooth process. “Anyone who works with VLS, in any of our locations, knows that the entire company, including me, is committed to continuing to provide the highest levels of service and support without any disruption. We are going to adhere to VLS’ core values, which means the customer comes first and we take responsibility for all of our actions. Vincent Lighting has a culture that is fundamental to its success and we will build on that. I may come in with some new goals and ideas that we can aspire to in the future, but overall, I am looking forward to being part of building on the strong company that Paul and his team created. For those who don’t know VLS, I want to suggest that they take a closer look at us. We really are a gem in the industry and I have no doubt that when you look, you will find that the products and services that VLS provides, with the highest level of professionalism and knowledgeable customer service, are a perfect match for your project needs. I look forward to working with all the customers, vendors, and people here at VLS.”
